Doodlebug Snowman

I just love this snowman in a snowglobe from Doodlebug, it's one of my favourite christmas stamps!! I've slightly decoupaged up the bottom of the snowglobe and then used my scalloped woodware punch which must be one of my best buys this year too! Snow has been glittered up using Stickles!

Christmas Snowflake

Well I am almost there I have one more christmas card to make and then I am done for 2007, hooray! I love this LO that my friend inspired me to make from her own idea!

The snowflake is a chipboard snowflake covered in sparkley glamour dust, it sparkles beautifully in the light!

Cute Reindeer

I think this stamp is one of my favourite christmas stamps, it's from Penny black.. isn't he cute?!

The papers are doodlebug and again the greeting is from the Doodlebug Christams Clear rubber stamp set.

Snowflake Card

I love this snowflake card, the large snowflake is a die cut pack from Craftwork cards, I then used some 3 dimentional glue to give the snowflake texture and then sprinkled a bit of glamour dust so it sparkles.

The greeting on the card is from the Doodlebug clear christmas stamp set and the embossing is the cuttlebug snowflake embossing plate.

Birthday card... and it's pink!!

Well I couldn't not post another pink card... sorry I know I need to use some other colours, I just can't help myself, I just always reach for pink... I just love this cuttlebug cake die, one of my best buys! The swirly bits of the icing have glitter on them so it really sparkles, the photo doesn't really show it up.

You'll be pleased to hear I have hardly made any pink christmas cards...

Doodlebug Christmas

Well I promised a non pink card so here you go lol!

I'm loving these Doodlebug christmas stamps, I love how they match the papers, which I had a hard time cutting into lol!

I've been busy trying to make so many christmas cards as I have been behind with being ill in October... I did a very bad thing yesterday and bought a box of cards to send to those that don't normally appreciate a hand made card... feel dreadful as I have so much christmas stuff to start a shop but I feel less stressed now, it was only 35 I needed to send out... 12 more cards and then I am done!!!

Birthday Cake

Oooh no not another brown and pink card I hear you say lol... sorry!! I know I need to start using all my other colours but pink is my safety net!!

Love my new cuttlebug cake die, think it looks like the doodlebug style, love this paper too, it's from the glitterpot.

I promise the next card I show will not be pink.. gulp!!!

I've Been Tagged!!!

I don’t know I don’t post in a few days and then I do three posts all in one day!!

Thank you to Becky for tagging me… so sorry I haven’t done this sooner, not sure how I missed this!!

1 - If you could have $100.00 worth of scrapbook paper or assorted embellishments, which would you choose?
I think I would choose paper because I’m just addicted to 12x12 paper, I see it and I just have to have it but then I can’t cut it!!

2 -If you had to choose between using only stamps or ribbons, which would you choose?
That is easy it has to be stamps every time with me, I love ribbon but I’d be lost without my stamps!

3 - If you knew how to do both awesome cards and layouts but could only do one for a whole year…which would you do?
That’s tough because I love making cards to make others happy but I would so love more time to scrap so that all those things I haven’t had the heart to use on cards to give away I could keep forever…. I guess it would have to be cards as I always put others before myself!

4 - Would you rather own a scrap booking store or have your own scrapping room at home?
I think I’d be happy with just a room of my own, I have a room but it’s a small shared room with OH and I’m running out of space. I don’t think I would like to run my own craft business it would probably mean I wouldn’t be able to craft as much as I would like to... although being able to play with new stash would be very exciting!!

5 - What is your CURRENT card making or scrapping style?
Currently it’s Christmas because I have so many christmas cards to make but that aside it has to be girlie and flowery!!!

Here are the rules…………..Please answer the questions on your blog and tag 5 more people to answer the same questions……….make sure you list on your blog who you are tagging

I am tagging:

* Clare
* My Paper World
* Made By Mandy
* By Samm

Pink Christmas!!

Don't you just love pink christmas cards?! If I had my way I'd do all my christmas cards pink, I know it's not very traditional but I just love pink (if you hadn't already guessed lol!!)

Can't remember who makes this pink swirly paper but I bought it from the Glitter Pot, as soon as I saw it I knew I just had to have a few sheets as I'm into swirls in a big way at the moment!!

The sentiment is a Penny Black stamp and the snowflake is part of a Sizzlit snowflake die set.

Think Pink Thank You

Here's another pink card that I made for our think pink competition... I just love brown and pink together, inspiration for this card came from Papercrafts Magazine. Found it very hard to give up those pink primas!!

Thursday 22 November 2007

hmmm Blonde Moments!!

I'm into pink & brown again... The flower is coloured using Blonde Moments pearl powders, they were a last minute purchase from Ally Pally after admiring them every time I went!

They are fantastic, you use a perfect medium ink pad to stamp with then brush on the powder, to seal it all you do is spritz a bit of water onto area and let it dry, you can also use them like paints too... the photo really doesn't do them justice as they shimmer!

Get Well Soon

I organised a 'think pink' card competiton for my crafty friends to raise some money for the Breast Cancer charity as last month was Breast Cancer awreness month. We managed to raise £135.00 plus we have over 60 cards to hand over to the charity to sell on!

Here's one of the cards I made for the competiton, it's actually the winning card, never expected that! I love this paper!

Circle Journal

Ooops I'm a bad blogger!!! Sorry not posted for a bit, first week back to work last week and I have to say it was a long week and I was shattered come Friday but it was nice to get back into a routine again, I feel almost normal again lol!

I've been busy with a circle journal that I signed up to on a forum I go on, so thought I'd post the most recent one I finished... I've made loads of cards but I can't show most of them yet as some are for birthdays coming up and also I orgainsed a card competition to raise money for Breast Cancer Care, but as soon as the voting is done I'll get them up here!

The Circle Journals Theme was Cardmaking Techniques and this is my double page LO.

Let It Snow!

Well it's been a while since I've blogged or even made any cards but this weekend I had a little play, I'm feeling better after the operation, thanks so much to those who have sent cards, emails etc!

I'm still a bit swollen and very tired but I'm getting there, hoping I can go back to work later this week to start getting back into a normal routine!

Anyway here's a card that was inspirited by a lovely friend of mine - Maggie...

The card is embossed with the Cuttlebug snowflake folder and I cut a circle out for a chipboard snowflake which is dangling on some ribbon, the brad in the centre is from the new Doodlebug range and they are gorgeous!!

The Let It Snow stamp is by Paper Salon with a little bit of bling, the picture doesn't do it justice because the snowflake really sparkles thanks to glamour dust!!

Monday 15 October 2007

Ally Pally Goodies

A little late I know but I took these pictures when I came back from Ally but just didn't get round to posting them because I ended up in hospital so all this stash is sitting upstairs waiting to be played with!

12x12 stencils from Blonde Moments

Hmmm papers... mainly bought from Sugar & Spice... love pink & brown and Blue & Brown at the moment... not sure how I'll actually be able to cut into them though!!

Lily of the Valley die cuts, I fell in love with the reindeers and polar bears... so cute!!!

I loved this ribbon you can't see it but they had swirls on the ribbon, very very pretty, sparkly chipboard alphas, chocolate brown velvet ribbon, sizzlit alphabet and swirly border.

Hmmm stamps lol, I actually didn't buy many which is unlike me ,Autumn leaves set was my bargain buy as they were priced at £7.95. The two wood mounted ones at the bottom are by A Muse, I LOVE AMuse stamps but can never find anywhere in the UK that sells them... loving my blonde moments powders too!!

Update on me!

Thanks for the kind get well wishes, I'm feeling a little better, still sore and swollen and very slow on my feet but getting there slowly, just so impatient because I want to do things but I can't at the moment... I'm not used to sitting around doing nothing and don't feel up to crafting at the moment. Been to the doctors today and he's signed me off for another 2 weeks... I'm so hoping that I'm going to feel better soon so I can craft and make use of the time off, I have so many cards to make!!

I've had some lovely hand made cards from special friends, 1 bouquet of flowers arrived Saturday and 2 bouquets of flowers arrived today from some crafty friends and my work colleagues, the smell in the house is wonderful!

I've Been In Hospital!

Sorry it's been a while since I've posted.... I've been quite poorly! :(

I got rushed into hospital on Friday after passing out at work, very very scary because I was on my own in the office at the time, somehow managed to contact the local police when I came round for help.

After 6 stressful hours in A&E, in pain & with a temperature that wouldn't go down, surgens weren't 100% sure what was wrong with me but they suspected a burst appendix.

I went down to theatre after 1am Saturday morning and I'm pleased to say that it was only inflammation of the appendix, so I have had it removed by keyhole surgery.

I'm a swollen, sore & bruised at the moment and I can't move very far which I'm finding very hard because I'm one of these people who are on the go all the time, i don't know how to relax lol!

It's been a frightening week for me but I'm just starting to feel a bit brighter about it all, My fiance Paul has been a super star really has looked after me and I'm so grateful for that because I really don't know what I would have done with out him.

I miss my crafting, I so want to play but I just don't feel up to it at the moment but hope I can soon as I got some great stash from ally and I want to use it... I am so behind with cards!!

So as soon as I'm back to normal again I'll be crafting, blogging my cards and visiting those lovely blogs!!

Friday 28 September 2007

Ally Pally here I come!!!

Sorry I haven't posted in a few weeks, I've been quite poorly and haven't made a card in 2 weeks :( Anyway feeling better now and on the hunt for my christmas mojo.. anyone know where it is? Please send it back lol!
Exciting weekend for me, meeting up with some wonderful friends at Alexandra Palalce in London for 'The Big Stamp & Scrapbooking Show'... It's a great show, lot's of stalls, loads of tempting goodies to buy and what makes it even better for me is being with my friends who help each other spend lol! If you have never been it's worth going because you won't be disappointed!

So my weekend is going to be spent hopefully christmas crafting with my friend Clare tomorrow and then shopping on Sunday at Ally Pally!! Yipppeeee!!!

So fingers crossed I might be able to start posting some cards here very soon!

Another Notebook - Cat Themed

I organised an altered notebook swap on a forum I'm part of and this is the notebook for my partner, I made this with the help of my lovely bind it all machine (sorry Cheryl & Clare but you DO need one lol!)

My partner loves her two pussy cats so I just knew I had to do a cat themed book.... I used my doodlebug cat 12x12 paper which I had forgot I had... note to myself that I need some more now!!! The N is Maya Road chipboard alpha which has been embossed using a cuttlebug embossing folder.

The cat & mouse are little buttons that I found and there is a silver fishbone charm on the ribbon which came from Capture The Magic... inside is a lovely brown paw print paper which came from the DCVW cat stack but I stupidly forgot to take a piccie of the inside before sending it!

Chocolate Limes

I've just realised looking at this card that the colours remind me of sweets we used to have as a kid, We were only allowed to have sweets once a year as a kid and that was for th annual trip to the Panto!! I think there were called chocolate limes or something like that?! They were green sweets with chocolate in the inside! hmmm chocolate!! lol

OK enough about food, here's my card for today... this card was quite close to going in the bin because I didn't like the spots i'd stamped... I'm still not certin if I like the spots on it, do you think it spots spoil the card?! I'm really not sure....

Anyway my other half told me not to put it in the bin and send it... so I did as I was told lol!!

The green & brown card are bazzill, the green is their scalloped range which I really struggled to cut into cause it's the only sheet I have lol! Bit of glamour dust around the edges of the brown bazzill and the 'thanks a lot' stamp is from a Hero Arts set.

Tuesday 11 September 2007

Gatefold Birthday Card

This card was inspired by a challenge from Kerryn... I've never really done a gatefold card before so this was a bit of a challenge for me lol!

The flowers are stamped using those Blonde Moment flower stamps and the 'happy birthday' was done from Doodlebug rub on's. The sentiment inside the card is from a DCWV quote pack. The papers were all from Capture The Magic... found it hard to cut into these as I really like them but it was worth if for a very special friend!

Monday 10 September 2007

Christmas Tree Card

I seem to be in the christmas mood again only 105 days until the big day (GULP!) and I'm addicted to christmas tress lol!! Only because I banned myself from buying any more snowflake stamps this year as I have way too many!! So I bought a few tree (cough cough) stamps at the last craft fair so thought it was time I used one!!!

The tree's are from a Blonde Moments set coloured in with H20's so they shimmer and the paper is basic grey, I love this paper... need more!!!

Awww Best Blog Friend Award!

Awww isn't this cute?! I've been tagged by the very talented & famous Cheryl with the 'Best Blog Friend award'.... I'm so surprised to be picked because Cheryl's blog is so popular she normally has 30 odd comments a day!!

Cheryl's always been a great friend to me over the years and it's partly due to her why I started my own blog..... so thank you Cheryl!!

So with this tag you choose two of your best blogging buds and tag them with this very cute picture and they then go on to tag two of their friends etc etc.

So now I need to choose 2 people....

Kerryn - I've choosen Kerryn because I've known her via a crafty forum for what must be close to 3 years, she's a super special person, her cards are so pretty and she's one of those kind and thoughtful people which make the world a better place.

Marlou - I've choosen Marlou because I have admired her blog for a while now, before I started my own and would just lurk lol! She has fantastic talent and after being so poorly recently I thought this award would put a little smile on her face!

If you haven't had the pleasure of visiting these ladies blogs just pop by and have a little peek because you'll be so pleased you did!!

Pink, Green & Brown Birthday

I'm really into pink, green and brown at the moment... Ok it doesn't sound nice when you say it but don't they look really nice together?! This inspired by a challenge somewhere in blog world but I don't know which one it was now lol!

Now this little cat stamp has to be my favourite Penny Black stamp... I just love cats and flowers so this is just a perfect stamp for me lol... I also like it because it can be used for a number of occasions... the stamp is called 'Merci'.

Saturday 8 September 2007

Happy Birthday Paul's Nan!!

Paul's Nan is 78 today, she's a very active 78 year old, she looks and acts like someone in her 50's... I so hope I'm like that at her age!!

We were on the phone to her this morning when the postie arrived with it so it was lovely to hear her reaction to my card, she loved it!

I love this little Penny Black stamp, I've had the paper for a while (1 1/2 years I think!) and I have kept pulling it out to use for a while, stoking it and then quickly putting it back as I only had one of each sheet and I love it so much.... well who wouldn't it's pink lol!!

But the other day I went on a mission of organising all my 12x12 papers and decided that I was on one of those 'You MUST use your 12x12 papers day' lol! So out came the scissors and after the first cut it wasn't so bad and I still have some left to store away and treasure!!

Thursday 6 September 2007

Cupcake Birthday

Here's a rather simple birthday card I made round Becky's, the image is from Pink Petticoat, not sure which collection this is from though, but isn't the cupcake cute?!

Again this was Becky's lovely paper so I don't have a clue who makes it (sorry not much help really am I?!) but it's another on my wants list at the moment as I love the colour combination!

Reindeer Christmas Card

Last weekend I stayed over at my friend Becky's for a crafting weekend, I always enjoy our weekends crafting as she gives me so much inspiration... Of course we had to pop along to a craft shop along the way, it would have been rude not to lol Never been to Artbase before but wow that shop is amazing!!

I travelled very light with only the basic of crafty items and I was allowed to play with some of Becky's stash (she has some wonderful stamps)... she even allowed me to cut into her brand new papers... and now they are top on my wants list!!!

Anyway I had a fantastic time, sat up until 2am on Sunday morning making cards and talking... I managed to make 7 cards in total which wasn't bad going considering we only started crafting after around 8pm!

This is one of the cards I made, I LOVE this little Reindeer he is part of the new Studio G clear stamp sets, they only cost £1.50 and you get 4/5 stamps in a set.. BARGAIN! This set is another item on my wish list as well as these yummy papers, not sure who they are by but I believe they can be bought at Sugar & Spice.

Monday 3 September 2007

I Love Doodlebug!

Here's another lime green birthday card... I just love that paper... I never used to be into green... funny how your tastes change isn't it?!

The stamped presents and the sentiment are once again from doodlebug, I have a really love for Doodlebug at the moment (can you tell lol!) The black flowers are also Doodlebug their paper frills range with a little glamour dust sparkling around the border.

Friday 31 August 2007

Black & Lilac Flowers

Sorry I haven't been about for the past few days I've been away visiting OH's family... had lovely weather but no internet or crafting for 7 days and I'm itching to get crafty again!!

Here's a RAK card I made this month for a very talented crafter... I decided to go for a different colour combination for a change... I don't often use a lot of black other than to mount with but I quite like these two colours together.

The chipboard flowers are cut using the cuttlebug, the ric rac and the tag is by doodlebug. The scalloped lilac background is bazzill card cut with my fiskars large scalloped scissors.

Thursday 23 August 2007

Male Birthday Card

Is it just me or do you find male cards hard?! I really struggle with male cards... if I could just make them pink & flowery I'd be ok lol!

I'm normally the type of girl who leaves male cards to the last minute and then gets stressed wondering what on earth I going to do... You only have to go through my craft stuff to see that I have very little male realted items... I think I own a little beer jug stamp (never used) and a quickutz football die... I think that is as far as it goes for male.. I really need to buy more stuff but I just don't get excited over male items like I do with girlie things like flowers lol.

Anyway this time was different, I made this card with nearly 2 weeks to spare... it's unheard of for me lol!

My brother loves his PSP at the moment and a little light switched on inside my brain lol. I just printed it out a few times and decoupaged the buttons up, the brother wording is cut with the Cuttlebug Hippie Chick alphabet set....

I know it's not the most stunning card and not hugely exciting but at least it's done in plenty of time and hopefully he'll love it.

Right back to pink & girlie now for a few weeks until I need to make my uncles birthday card... ooooh I'm stressed just thinking about what to make....

Wednesday 22 August 2007

Basic Grey Notebook

Here's another notebook made with my lovely Bind It All, I found this hard to part with because I love this paper!! The papers are Basic Grey - Phoebe.

The L is from the alphabet chipboard set by Maya Road. It's the first time I have covered any chipboard using paper, I was quite pleased with how it came out!

Tuesday 21 August 2007

Black & White

I think this is my first black & white card I've ever made, normally I add a little colour with it but this time I thought I'd stick to just black & White.

The papers once again are from the stash I bought at Stevenage, paper set from Craftwork cards, again like the christmas papers they have a bit of a sheen to the paper.

Flower was cut using the whale of a punch retro flower and the friend stamp is a clear one but I can't remember where I got it from.

Monday 20 August 2007

Barney's First LO

As promised a few days ago here is a piccie of my 1 year old cat Barney... he's quite a character now! I'm collecting stuff for his scrapbook album... I seem to do more collecting than actual scrapbooking (oops!)

Anyway I did this LO using a challenge on UK Scrappers a few months ago, so not really a current LO but I thought it would be nice to post it here in hope that it'll give me the kick up the bum I need to do more LO's...

Paper & alphabet stickers are by DCWV their cat stack, the little mice are using the cuttlebug cat die.

Ooooh An Award!!

Wow I’ve been nominated for an award from the very lovely and extremely talented Cheryl! So now it’s my turn to nominate five Bloggers who in turn display the award on their blog with the person who nominated them plus their five nominees!!

My chosen five talented nominees are:

Somewhere in Time - Paula
Choice Words & Tasteful Doings - Sam
Paper Pleasing Ideas
Made By Mandy
A Stamping Chirping Corner - Stamping Caz

Sunday 19 August 2007

Pink Christmas!!

I've only made 2 cards today but I actually crafted with my new goodies and cut into new papers too which is normally unheard of for me as I like to buy and stroke only lol!

This card was inspired by Di Hickmans Wednesday Challenge.. the first one I have actually tried, normally just lurk lol!

Anyway the yummy papers are from Craftwork cards, you can't tell on the scan but they are all shimmery. The snowflake was cut using the Sizzlits snowflake die set. The lovely sentiment is by Penny Black... I saw it at Stevenage and I just had to buy it thought it was really sweet.

Saturday 18 August 2007

Strawberries & Cream Challenge/DCM

This card was a challenge on a forum I go on, the challenge was 'Stawberries & Cream'.... make a card with the colours red & white.

I also noticed that on DCM their dare is 'To make a card with a frill'.... so I thought this was suitable for that too, first time I've taken part in a proper challenge!

I love red but I find it a very difficult colour to craft with, so I decided to make my card a christmas card which I find easier to do in red!

The snowflake is from a set I got at Craftwork Cards last year and I covered it with glamour dust to give it that sparkle!

The paper is by Pebbles Inc - Christmas Deck The Hall (Glitterpot) .... The scallopped edging is from the Doodlebug paper frills range. Merry Christmas is the Small casual Snap Stamps.

Pink Notebook

This is my third attempt and I have to say I'm quite pleased with it! We watched a demo at the craft fair for all the handy tips on how to get the edges & corners right and I am so pleased I saw it all as she gave some great ideas and tips!

The B is Maya Road chipboard coloured with H20, covered in diamond glaze and then a bit of glamour dust for a bit of sparkle!

The paper on the front is by Sandylion - Kelly Panacci All About Me Atomic Daises & the inside paper is again Sandylion - Kelly Panacci All About Me Pink Mini Dots both bought from Capture The Magic.

I have to say I found it very hard to give this one away!

Christmas Notebook

Ok as promised here's one of the notebooks I made during the week...this was my second attempt so go easy on me lol! I forgot to take a piccie of the inside of this book before I sent it but inside is a spotty background.

The papers are from last years DCWV paper pack and the embossed snowflake is a Ellison emboss & cut die. The snowflake has glamour dust on the raised part of the snowflake but the camera doesn't pick that up.

I enjoyed making this little book and found it hard to part with it but the receiver said she liked it so I hope she will find a use for it!

Friday 17 August 2007

Lilac Spots!

I'm really into spotty backgrounds at the moment... I love these spot stamps by MSE, they are a clear set which makes it so much easier! The mouse stamp is by Penny Black, greeting is with my trusty snap stamps!

I made 2 more christmas cards last night, I'll get those downloaded later on. I have to say I am getting very worried with my Christmas obsession as I have made about 17 christmas cards in total after the ones I made last night! I never normally start until the end of September... Quite scary when you think about how close christmas is now....

Thursday 16 August 2007

Bind It All

I'm loving my new toy... I've made three things already with it but I can't show them here until the receivers get them.... so watch this space!!

I have to say I am very impressed with it, it's so small and light, I thought it was going to be heavy and quite big but it weights less that 3lbs and takes up hardly any room so great for those lacking space!

I was so pleased I saw the demo at the craft fair for all those tips & ideas that you don't get when you open the box!

Caz asked where I bought the machine from, mine came from Stamp Addicts, a friend kindly gave me her discount card that she has with them so I got 12% off too, every little helps! :)

I've been told by a friend who's had the machine a few months now that Stamp Addicts prices for the binding wires are the cheapest she's seen them for, so I'll be going back to them!

If you get a chance to see Stamp Addicts at a craft fair go watch their demos because what they had made using this machine was fantastic!

Also worth popping onto Zutter Zisters for more ideas & projects for using the machine!

Finally A Pink Card!!!

Ok… I know not enough pink cards being shown on here for a pink girl lol… I have been trying very hard lately to use other colours but I always come back to pink in the end!! Here’s a pink card I made for a friend.

Stamped cupcake image is Doodlebug clear stamps – birthday set, embossed background is the cuttlebug dots embossing folder on Bazzill Bling card (I found it so hard to cut into the bling!).

Wednesday 15 August 2007

Lilac Flowers

I saw a card simular to this on a blog I visted a few months ago and I really liked the effect so thought I'd give it a go... If you happen to know who's blog it was please let me know so I can make sure that person gets the credit for it!

I cut the front on the card in half so that I could mount the embossed image behind. Cuttlebug embossing folder spots & dots inked with an inkpad and the 3 flowers are cut out of chipboard and covered with bazzill. The stems of the flowers are from the Doodlebug clear stamp range - flowers.

I Love This Stamp!!

I just love this little Penny Black stamp, it's called Merci and has to be my favourite cute stamp of theirs, I use it a lot!

The flowers are by Doodlebug and I have to admit that I really didn't like the glittered ones and would normally hide it at the back of the flower but I actually like this! I'm totally into my scalloped punches and scissors at the moment as you can probably tell!

Sunday 12 August 2007

Hmmm Crafty Stash!

Went to Stevenage 'Stamperama' Craft Fair today, met up with great friends and spent a little money, I was actually quite good which makes a change and came back with quite a bit of money!!!
So this is what I got... I was on a christmas mission today and no pink as I buy too much of it plus I've just noticed only one flower item which is normally unheard of!
