Day Trip To Dorchester

Living in the 80's! Sharron is defiantly an 80's chick! When I saw this holey paper at Capture The Magic I just knew I had to buy it to use on this album! I've used Bazzill card stock behind it in the opposite colour.

The holey paper is fab but I have to admit it didn't half do my eyes in after looking at it for a while!!!

Alphabet is cuttlebug Oliva set, I feel it needs something else but not too sure what, I'm going to keep coming back to it to look at it!

The Early Days In Lowestoft

Quite a rare find this picture, there isn’t many photos of Sharron when she was younger with her mum and dad together… just loving her mum’s 70’s dress!! The dress is what inspired me to use the flower and go for the orange theme.

Orange cardstock is Bazzill Bling, I have no clue why this was in my papers file I must have bought it ages ago because I don’t do orange!!

The spotty paper for the petals and the green stripes are yet again part of a new range by My Minds Eye drool drool!

Flower petals made using the cuttlebug cut and emboss flower die set and the font is the Cuttlebug Babyface alphabet.
I've left the centre blank so that she can add her own bit of journalling.

Happy Birthday Becky

Look another card with orange in it….. slightly worrying how much orange I am using at the moment but don’t worry Becky your orange papers are safe!!

Papers are once again the lovely My Minds Eye range, I really do love these papers! The front paper with little flowers has Swarovski crystal stones in the centre of the flowers and they really do make the card sparkle! I love a bit of bling especially the Swarovski bling!

Cupcake stamp is from the Stampin Up Crazy For Cupcakes set, which I have wanted for AGES and got it for my birthday – Thank you Clare, first time they have been inked up! Sentiment on the inside is part of a Heidi Grace stamp set, I just love Heidi Grace, so sad that Fiskars are discontinuing her range.

Scalloped oval punch is the new punch from the Stampin’ Up mini catalogue along with the small oval punch and the sentiment inside is part of a Hero Arts set.

The owl is a Penny Black stamp coloured in using my copics, yes I have been bitten by the copic bug, not had much chance to play with them yet as I’m busy with the scrapbook so still trying to master the technique.

BTW for anyone wanting to buy copics from the UK at a good price I would highly recommend cult pens they sell the Copics for a good price, if you spend over £10 postage is free and they arrive so quick… what more could a girl want! Cult Pens

They have just started stocking the Copic atyouspica glitter pens which are come in 13 different colours.. if you haven’t heard of them before let me help you LOL

The main difference in the Spica glitter pen is that the sparkle is actually made up of micro glass flakes and they claim that they have twice the writing length of other pens. They are a pigment based acid free ink and they dry pretty quickly. They sparkle much more than the stardust gelly roll pens and the clear is a proper clear and not a silver colour.

The only other tip I have read is that you must keep these pens stored horizontal and you must not drop them!
Whilst I’m on the subject of pens they also sell the fantastic Uni-Ball Signo white pen that is in the SU catty, their price almost half the price in the SU catty so well worth using them! I’m really fussy about white pens and inkpads looking true white not grey and this is the only pen I have found that looks a true white and works really well on dark cardstock. Uni-Ball Signo White Pen
OK I’ll shut up about pens for now LOL…. I have to admit that I do have a bit of a pen addiction, thinking back to when I was a kid I always had a thing for pens back then, Saturday morning in town with the girls checking out what new pens they had in Heffers stationary shop!

Smile

Now I have to say that I am really really pleased with this LO, so much so that I want to keep it for myself and just change the photo and put one of me instead!

I love spotty paper, especially if it’s pink spotty paper and find it really hard to part with my paper stock but this is an old Karen Foster paper which was kind of on the ‘why did I buy this' pile. I couldn’t see myself ever using it but when then I was inspired to use it on this LO.

The circle chipboard frame is part of a Technique Tuesday chipboard set that I bought at CTM ages ago and as always didn’t want to part with it LOL.

I don’t know who makes the alphabet, I got it for Christmas but I have a sneaky suspicion that it was from a cheapy shop, they are glittered letters which were purple but I have inked over it to make it more pink.

Only really annoying thing is that it’s been pointed out to me that I’ve used both upper and lowercase, I didn’t really look at it like that when I did it… but I’m not going to let it bother me… it’s arty and it's home made!!!

Strike A Pose

There was so many photos of Sharron posing when she was younger that I just had to use this title!

Yet again more lovely paper that I wasn’t supposed to be using for this album, Bo Bunny again…. God I just love their card stock, I really really should be using up my old papers but I just can't help being drawn to the newer stuff and BTW their new range is just stunning!

I’ve scalloped the border using my Fiskars Threading water punch, I just LOVE this punch… mine broke an while back and I had to wait about 3 months for a replacement as everywhere was out of stock… Do you know how hard that was for me to be parted from this punch LOL!

Anyway we are reunited now and this is the first thing I used it on…. Just need to be careful with this one!

Daddys Girl

At long last I can now show these scrapbooking pages that I am doing for Paul’s sister’s 40th birthday, yes the camera cable has been found and Paul got told quite clearly to not tidy up and hide things away especially not where he had hidden it as there was no chnace of me ever finding it!
I’m really starting to get stressed about how little time I have left to get this done, 13th June is the date and I have so much to do yet and not a huge amount of time to work on it, just got another load of photos this weekend to sort out, just wish I didn’t have to keep nagging and pestering everyone for them!!

Anyway this is Sharron and her dad, such a lovely natural photo, don’t have many of them together like this so I think this photo is going to mean a lot to her and I don't think she has seen it before.

Background paper is the lovely flocked doodlebug paper; this was my last sheet after using so much on the Love Bo Bunny Word book I did for Valentines Day… I really didn’t want to use it but seeing as the album is 8x8 it means I get to keep a little back for stroking LOL!

Thanks So Much

I made this card after being inspired by a card I saw at The Glitter Pot when I was down there a few months back, what caught my eye was the stamp they had used and I just had to have it… along with all the other girls LOL. The swirl stamp is what caught my eye, I am a sucker for a swirl, loved how it looks with a bit of glitter on it also. I'll have to come back and tell you who makes the stamp as I don't have a clue, I just know I had to have it!

I cut some acetate using the large Nestability scalloped die and then stamped the swirl with pink stazon on (yes you can imagine my excitement when I saw they did a baby pink colour!)
Then cut a window using the Stampin Up window punch and the little greeting is from a Stampin Up set but right at this moment I can’t remember which one, but I like it! LOL
The large bling in the flower is once again my bargain gem stones from Paperchase!

14th Birthday card... hmmm Basic Grey!

Well I've had an eventful afternoon crafting... let me tell you... I have a bit of a reputation for needing to be kept away from sharp objecs because I tend to have accidents... I am a bit clumsey you see... well today is one of those days... There I was christening my lovely new fiskars knife (thank you Nikki!) when whoops not paying enough attention whilst cutting the numbers and sliced the top of my finger open... blood all over the birthday card I was making!

So after some choccie to make me feel better I had to start again with another card.... to be honest I am glad I did because I have to say I really like this card and the one I was making just didn't look right especially with my own blood over half of it!

Anyway this card is for our Nephew who's 14 next week, scary how time flies by... I have to be honest and say I really get stressed about male cards, normally leave them until the last minute because I have hardly anything in my stash that I can use... why can't they appreciate a nice pink flowery card!

I bought this Basic Grey paper pack lastmonth after seeing cards Becky had made with the same pack... I am so pleased I bought it! I've used Stampin Up Chocolate Chip as the main card stock, I think the colour works really well.

The little enamled tag is from a set I got for my birthday from Making Memories (thank you Becky!). Yet again you have come to my rescue!!

Secret Sister Card… Well The Not So Secret Sister Card!

Look two posts in two days… I’m on a roll!

I made this card last year but I couldn’t show it at the time as it was sent to the receiver without them knowing who it was from.

The only trouble with this was that I sent her one card a month for 11 months and signed it from her secret sister… Only problem was that she guessed it was me from the first card I sent her!

How did she find out?!... No it wasn’t because of my love for pink or owls, I tried really hard to avoid them both… yes it was extremely hard, but I made up for it by making loads of pink owl cards for everyone else LOL…. She guessed it was me because she recognised my handwriting… apparently I loop my L’s… didn’t help that she had just taken down her birthday cards and decided to play detective by checking everyone’s handwriting….. must remember this year to disguise my handwriting when sending cards undercover LOL!

I can’t remember who the paper is by, but I know I like it still and wish I didn’t have none of it left but I do know that the Bird stamp is by Hero arts, the gem stone was my bargain buy at the time from Paperchase, they were selling these large gemstones in pots for something like £3.00 and you get loads, they are FAB! I love a little bit of bling!!!

Haven’t forgotten that I have yet to post the scrapbooking pages that I’ve been working on for months now… They are all sitting on my camera waiting to be downloaded with just one slight problem…..someone who will remain nameless (but let’s just make this clear… it isn’t me!) has put the cable for the camera in a very safe place and now he can’t find it… So he’s not very popular at the moment LOL! Why can’t they leave things alone? So strict instructions for when he gets home this afternoon that he goes cable hunting around the house!

Happy Birthday Sarn!

Well yet again... months fly by without me blogging! Sorry... it's been a busy few months with meeting up with fab crafty friends and then just recently working at Ally Pally.

This card was made for the very lovely Sarn who's birthday it is today, hope you have a fantastic time hun!!

The bird is a stamp by Hero Arts, yes I am still into birds LOL, papers are basic grey, along with the papers used to colour the bird in. The scalloped border is a Martha Stewart punch which I had borrowed. The greeting is a A Muse stamp, I love A Muse stamps... just wish you could get them in the UK!

I've also been really busy scrapbooking, Paul's sister is 40 in June and at the time we came up with the idea of making an album for her... I have just realised that this will be the first complete scrapbook I have made as I have about 5 on the go at the moment.

It's hard making an album for someone else, time is ticking and the pressure is on now as I have so many more pages to do and more photos to get from the family. I need to start taking the piccies so I can pop them up onto this blog.
