My First Challenge Card!

This challenge was from Cheryl and this is what I came up with after a morning of head scratching!

I’d received the Heidi Swapp thank you stamps in the post during the week and been itching to use them, the flowers are stamped on Bazzill cardstock using the Blonde Moments stamps.

Slight confession here that I have had them sealed in their packet since March (oops)! Backing paper is also from Blonde Moments.

I’ve decided that I need to challenge myself to start using some of the stamps that I have bought and not actually used which if I am really honest is about 50% of my collection…Please tell me this is normal lol…

I’ve Been Tagged!

Thank you to Becky for tagging me...

OK now for the hard part 7 random things about me… that’s really tough!!

1. I’m addicted to rubber stamps & inkpads.. I know I have too many quite a few of them still haven't been used but I just can’t stop buying them lol.. maybe I need to set myself a challenge there... to start using the unused stamps!

2. I was taught Maths at school by one of the British airmen from ‘Allo ‘Allo, he was a fantastic bloke and used to tell us tales from the BBC!

3. My least favourite colour for making cards is yellow; I love looking at yellow cards but just struggle to make them!

4. I would love to learn floristry, I love flowers but whenever I put flowers in a vase they never look stunning!!

5. My dream is to go to Disneyworld Florida, as I’m a huge Disney fan! Think I need to start saving my pennys there!

6. I fund my crafting habit by working full time as a Recruitment Consultant

7. I love Galaxy chocolate!

I’m tagging the following bloggers…

Birthday Tag Book

A birthday card with a slight difference, I made a little pocket on the front of this card and out of the pocket comes a little Tag birthday book!

The stamped images are Doodlebug frames set & the with love greeting is using those Snap Stamps again. Around the edges I used glamour dust for a bit of sparkle!

The dotty paper is Doodlebug & the name on the front of the tag book is cuttlebug Hippie Chick!

Inside the tag book i've used Penny black stickers & DCWV cardstock and quotes.

Ok here's a little pink

Pink & brown is another combination that I can't stop using either at the moment... The cardstock used is the Basic Grey papers, which I really love! I haven't use a template for this, just sketched it out and used a circle punch and punched half a circle for the top.

The flower is punched out using the Whale of a Punch Retro flower. Inside is a little tag which I've used the Doodlebug Friends stamp set.

Here's Some More Handy Tips For You

I wanted to share with you someone who I came across on the internet a few days ago, her name is Tammy Mitchell from The Scrap Spot... I sat down the other day to watch a few of her videos on on You Tube and was inspired by her!

If you have wondered what the crop-a-dile is like to use watch her video on it, it's very helpful... I especially enjoyed her ideas and techniques on covering chipboard with ribbon.

Anyway this is the link to madscrappergirl's videos ... enjoy!

With Love

Here's a card I made at the weekend, bit different for me because I hardly ever use this size of card but I came across a sketch that gave me a bit of inspiration!
Green again... there's me saying I'm a girlie girl and all I can do at the moment is make green cards lol!

The flowers are cut with the large retro punch, the green papers are from basic grey and the black polka dot paper was downloaded from a website somewhere!

The With Love wording is Cuttlebug Hippie Chick which is my favourite alpha set at the moment & the little butterflies are from the Doodlebug clear stamp set - flowers.

Lovely Surprise!

Oooh look what I got in the post today... Heidi Swapp thank you corner stamps... hmmmm how nice are they?!

They were a gift from my friend Linda as a thank you for sending her a duplicate stamp I had... I've wanted this set for a while but not found it!

Can't wait to play with these... thank you so much Linda for your kindness!

Tips On Colouring Cuttlebug Embossing Folders

A few people have asked how I manage to colour the raised embossed parts of a cuttlebug emossed folder without it going on the main part of the card so I thought I'd give you my tips.

I've tried doing it with a number of different inkpads (as I seem to collect those too lol) but I have found that the larger inkpads work much better than the smaller ones like the Brilliance dew drops... I prefer to use the Brilliance larger inkpads as for me they seem to work the best... especially the pearlescent ones as they shimmer.

If you keep the embossed image on your craft mat and keep your inkpad staight and just rub over the image keeping the inkpad straight and try not to be too heavy handed with it... you should end up with a result like this opposite!

Another Bella card

Here's another Stamping Bella card with another bella stamp that I don't currently own but would quite like to... her name is Lovely Bella.

Once again I've used that Doodlebug embossing paper with the brilliance ink pad technique.
By the way I straightened up the ribbon after taking this photo!!

Hmmm Lime Green!

Isn't this just such a pretty colour?! I'm so in love with my embossing folders at the moment, what a bargain they are!

I embossed on white card the Cuttlebug embossing folder textiles and then rubbed my Brilliance lime green pearlescent ink pad over the raised bits.

The stamp is by paper salon and I used my I' Kandee shimmer chalks to colour it in and then added the old faithful stickles glitter glue over the flowers and collar.

Doodlebug Cupcake

Here's another card I did recently, I've been into green a lot recently... which is so unlike me!!

Can't rememeber what this paper is but I've just ran out of it and I desperately need more! :(

Bazzil cardstock punched with a woodware super dooper scalloped punch I love this punch!!

The cupcake is from the new clear Doodlebug stamp sets, this is the birthday set. I glitter up the icing of the cupcake using the trustly stickles again!

The scalloped frame is from another Doodlebug clear set of stamps - Tags & Frames. The thanks a lot is part of a Heros Art set of stamps.

50th Birthday

I made this card for my aunt's 50th birthday. The swirl stamped images on the pink bazzill card are Autumn Leaves Swirl v2, I love these stamps!

A while back I bought a large clear alphabet & numbers stencil set from a cheapy shop in town they only cost £1.99 - BARGAIN, I've used them a few times for special birthdays.

Using my Cuttlebug Emossing Folder - Stylized Flowers I embossed two pieces of card, drew round the 5 & the 0 and cut them out. I then coloured the flowers and the leaves with my I Kan'dee Shimmer chalks. Tied ribbon around the 0 and the little silver tag says 'joy', I bought these from Capture The Magic.

Using my Cuttlebug machine I cut a oval slider from the set of Cuttlebug Slider die set. The greeting is using those Karen Foster Snap Stamps again but the mini casual alphabet this time!

The flowers are punched using a small flower punch and they have a gem stone in them!

Light The Night

Here's another card I made recently... Stamped image is a Penny Black stamp called Light The Night.

The embossed paper is from Doodlebug it's the Embossed 12x12 Cardstock called Divine Impressions. It comes white so I have used a Brilliance Pearescent Inkpad Pearlescent Purple and sponged the ink onto the cardstock. The dots on the card have been glittered with Stickles - Star Dust although you can't really notice it.

The scalloped purple edging down the side of the stamped image is from the Doodlebug Paper Frills Assortment Pastel Pack, I just coloured it in with the Brilliance Pad so the colour matched the paper!

The With Love tag is from the Doodlebug clear stamped range called tags, I love Doodlebug's new stamp range as you'll probably get to notice!

Tinkabella!

I'm soooo into Stamping Bella stamps at the moment!!! I'm not lucky enough to actually own this stamp YET but I just it, it's so girlie and so me!

Tinkabella is the name of the stamp, I've glittered her wings and flowers on her dress with Stickles - Star Dust which I love for that glittered effect!

The G is from a set of chipboard letters that I bought at Capture The Magic recently they are from American Traditional Designs - Chipboard Alphabet - Relax Pearlised!
I can't for the life of me remember what the paper is called but the pink ric rac down the card is actually from the Doolebug Paper Frills Assortment Pastel pack.

The rest of the greeting I have used a fantastic stamp set I love! They are called Karen Foster snap stamps - small casual alphabet... they are so clever as you can create your own words by snapping the alphabet stamps together... They must be one of my best buys recently... I got the mini set also which I'm told they have now discountined, they are very hard to come by, I know Vicki at Capture The Magic have a few sets left!

Welcome To My New Home!!!

Hello & welcome to my blog, I'm a bit of a newbie at this LOL!

I've been visiting blogs for a while and have wanted to do something but just haven't known how to actually start... plus I am a bit shy when it comes down to showing my work off lol, I'm not the most confident person!

Special thanks to Becky who very kindly gave me the kick up the bum I needed to make a start with this!

All I need now is a bit of glitter and I'll be right at home!
